"A gem of B&B near Obernai

Cristina and her husband Julien renovated this ancient Alsacian house with great taste and an eye for details. The property is ideally located in a quiet village a stone's throw from Obernai. The room we stayed in is spatious, very well equipped and beautifully decorated, and the bed is beyond comfortable. Breakfast was superb, with homemade jams and yoghurt and local pastries and cheese. Cristina is a wonderful host and will kindly do her utmost to make your stay unforgettable. We enjoyed our stay at Maison 1686 very much and will certainly come back next time we are in the area.

The room we stayed in has no black-out blinds. Black-out sleeping masks are provided but this may not be ideal for everyone. It did not bother us though.

Stupendous! Recently renovated Maison located in a very quiet small town and a few minutes drive from the main attractions of the place. New room, very spacious and equipped with every comfort, delicious and abundant breakfast. The owner, Cristina, has been able to put us at ease, pamper us and help us in everything we needed. We had a really great time and can't wait to go back!

Fabulous host! Very well thought out and beautifully renovated accommodation. We were in the upper floor of a converted barn, everything was very modern but in keeping with the lovely old building. Breakfast was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. We would recommend this place and would happily return whenever we are nearby.

The location is perfect – only a short walk from the old town. There's free parking at the station, just across the road. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but there's a very attractive terrace at the front of the hotel – perfect for a last drink in the evening. We'd be happy to stay again if we were in the area.

The bathroom was a bit strange – there's a hand-held shower head but no wall fixing or shower screen, so not easy to use.

Staff were struggling with English, it felt like they were doing you a favor by listening to your question.. one night I returned early to my room and asked if I can have some wine in my room and the answer was a hard No. Overall the building was old, the floor in the room was creaking and the pillows were long and cylindrical, not convenient for a good sleep. The hotel is fine for a short stay

The staff we saw is a pair man and woman, looking like hotel's owners. The usual problem is English, in most hotel it is, but they try to help. The room is very simple.

Eine wunderschöne Wohnung mit kleinem Garten. Die Lage perfekt und auch ein Bäcker war in der nähe. Tolle Ausstattung und alles war sehr sauber.

La decoración, la habitación y la cocina está muy bien equipada.
Bien ubicado porque íbamos con un coche de alquiler, no está céntrico pero en coche estás a 5min del centro.
El anfitrión nos atendió a las 1.30h, el vuelo se retrasó y no pusieron ningún inconveniente. Se agradece mucho.

Aconsejaría que tuvieran secador de pelo y productos de higiene para que el baño estuviera completo.
Me hubiera gustado que hubieran contestado a todos los mensajes que escribí para informar del retraso del vuelo. No supimos si nos podían recibir más tarde de lo previsto hasta que llamé por teléfono.

Il est situé en sous-sol avec des toutes petites fenêtres. L’appartement est assez froid et attention publicité mensongère. Les serviettes ne sont donnés que contre rémunération.

The apartment was spacious and clean, and the free parking was a huge plus. I also appreciated the coffee machine, which came in handy in the mornings. One of my favourite things about the apartment was its location. It was in the same building where a bakery was, which served delicious breakfast pastries. I also enjoyed being relatively close (900m walk) to the nice city centre and with various restaurants.

Overall, I would highly recommend your apartment to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

There was one minor downside to the apartment. The view from the balcony was of some industrial buildings. This wasn't a major issue for me, as I didn't spend a lot of time on the balcony. However, it might be something to consider for other guests.
