"Excellent find in a beautiful walled city!

We have lived in Spain for many years and spend Christmas holiday abroad. We usually drive home through France and stay in various cities (Avignon, Aix, Carcassonne, Valence); this year we chose Aigues-Morte. What a great city! And La Villa Mazarin was an excellent hotel for us (we brought our dog). Very old, beautifully renovated and centrally located. We did not use the excellent spa, but will return for a longer stay. Incredible breakfast and the bar is well stocked! Highly recommend and we will be back. The staff (Michael and David) made us feel very welcome!

We overall loved the hotel. We enjoyed the heated pool opened till midnight, nice gym and beautiful garden. Rooms were spacious and bathrooms were bright, design is authentic. Staying in a historical Villa was a fun and exciting experience. Location is perfect, a couple minutes walk away from all the restaurants and tourist attractions. Plenty of shops are also open until midnight. We ate one dinner in La Table restaurant in the hotel and it was great and inexperiensive but service is far from a gastronomic or furthermore Michelin star as they claimed. Nobody even opened to poor wine in our glasses so we had to do it ourselves. Dishes were not presented so you have to guess what you’re eating. So bravo to the chef but improvement is welcome for the service team. The night bar however was awesome! Book a suite if you have an opportunity, it so worth it! Superior rooms in the second building also have balconies which is a nice bonus. We would love to come back!

Above our expectations, thanks to the elegant facilities (covered swimmingpool overlooking the green courtyard, garage at reasonable price) and an experienced staff of local resident(age 35-50). Restaurant with a Michelin 2 fork rate at convenient price, brekfast in the wonderful veranda overlooking the courtyard, large rooms.

Très bel établissement – bon accueil (excellent au petit déjeuner) – – le petit déjeuner est très bien aussi – la piscine intérieure et le spa sont très bien et l’emplacement parfait
Un petit bémol : pas d’ascenseur et pas d’aide pour monter les bagages (un peu juste pour un 5 étoiles)
Mais globalement tout à fait à recommander !

L'hôtel est bien placé, propre, avec de bon services (piscine chauffée et salle de sport) et le personnel est très bien. Juste un petit accroc de retrouver notre chambre éclairée et télé allumé au retour de notre repas (par ailleurs très bon) alors que nous avions tout éteint en partant.

Nous avons apprécié la gentillesse et le professionnalisme du personnel. Très beau bâtiment qui correspond bien aussi à ce beau village Aigues-Mortes C'est la deuxième fois qu'on visite cette région et je recommande cet Hôtel.
Quel plaisir de se balader dans ce beau village Médiéval. Boutiques, restaurants et bien sur le Musée pour découvrir l'histoire sur le Protestantisme. Ça faut le détour.

It was close to the city center. It was very clean and the room was inviting and comfortable with small, but very thoughtful amenities (like a kettle and tea/coffee). It has a lovely garden. We were provided with a cot without any issues. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. Our French isn’t the best, but their English is pretty good, so communication was made easy for us. And the owner’s dog was also very friendly and made the stay extra sweet.

Really good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was very clean and well appointed with everything anyone would need for a short stay. Great view from room on to canal and ramparts. Dog friendly hotel. Excellent breakfast with a great choice of delicious fresh food on offer. Hotel provides parking pass for car parks around the town which is a great benefit. We felt very welcome at all times. Will definitely return. Would recommend very highly.

"Fabulous accommodation in a prime position. ALL staff were wonderful, polite and cheerful.

Excellent communication with the owner re: check in time, facilities and parking.
Excellent welcome on check in, owner spoke perfect English and gave us lots of information as well as a parking pass for free parking in a choice of places. Unloading bay right outside the door.
The owner even carried our luggage upstairs whilst my husband parked the car!
Our room was quite small but perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean, bathroom amenities excellent. Air conditioning unit and hospitality tray very welcome. Room overlooked the canal with a fabulous view of the medieval tower and walls.
Sweet garden (where we picnicked in the evening) and where we sat for breakfast.
The breakfast was good, the items available seemed to be of very high quality.
Lots of information available in reception for things to do and see, also bike hire. Unfortunately we were not there for long enough to really take advantage.

There was only one coffee machine at breakfast which caused long queues, another one would have made a lot of difference. Not really a complaint, just a comment.
I didn't like having to leave, wish I could have stayed longer!!

The hotel is ideally located just across the bridge from the main entry to the walled part of Aigues-Mortes. It is small and charming, with very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was very good, and the outdoor eating area in the garden was lovely. The provided parking nearby was easily accessible.

Two improvements would have made this police even better: mosquito screens on the windows and restriction of smoking outdoors (as well as indoors) during breakfast times.

Loosely fitting sliding door to bathroom: only stay here if you don’t care about bathroom privacy.
Very hot room on arrival – has aircon for night but why not close shutters in day between guests?
Free parking available but first unloading your car is a challenge.
