There must be far better places to stay in Poitiers than this. There were no redeeming features at all other the location. It seems to have the feel of a doss house, the car park is woeful and overall the place is very tired. On a positive note the staff were friendly, it was fairly clean and that's about it.

"Inégal d'une chambre à l'autre

La qualité d'une chambre à l'autre est très inégale (nous étions cinq donc cinq chambres). En ce qui concerne la mienne, il n'y avait pas de chauffage d'allumé (alors qu'une de mes collègues bénéficiait d'un chauffage individuel électrique). La baignoire ne disposait pas de bouchon de vidange alors que je rêvais d'un bon bain chaud. De plus il n'y avait pas de pression au robinet ce qui nécessitait du temps pour prendre une douche (j'étais au troisième étage alors qu'un collègue au premier ne semblait pas avoir ce problème). Quant à la literie, le matelas et le sommier étaient neufs mais manquaient de fermeté à mon goût. Sinon la chambre était très propre et l'accueil aimable. Bref, pour un voyageur solitaire peu regardant, au budget serré et compte tenu de la situation de l'hôtel (vraiment central), cet établissement peut convenir.

Good hotel in great location in centre of town. Very clean with helpful staff and good breakfast (12.50 Euros). Hotel facilities are limited but adequate as there are many bars and restaurants in the immediate location.

On arrival we were greeted by a young female staff member who was excellent. As we did not speak alot of French she was so helpful, friendly and polite and able to answer all our questions. Thank-you we really enjoyed our visit.

This was a super hotel to stay at and provides all the requirements.
The situation is perfect in the center of town near great restaurants.
Car parking on site but a charge of 7 Euros per day not that bad.
Certainly worth a high recommendation.

I stayed for just one night here with friends – the hotel is really well-located just a few minutes walk from the main square, and the rooms are comfortable and well-equipped. A few things to note – you must book ahead if you need parking, although we weren't notified of this by Agoda so had to park further away from the hotel. Also at the weekend, the bar isn't open at all and there is no room service for evening meals. This didn't affect us as we ate out and there are lots of restuarants nearby, but it seemed a bit of an inconvenient arrangment if you wanted to have a quick drink. The bar has a lovely terrace,but this wasn't even available either. But for a short, transit overnight stay, the hotel is fine.

"Superb City Centre Hotel

I recently stayed at the Best Western Poitiers Centre Le Grand Hotel, and found it to be an excellent small very personable 4 star hotel. As I was travelling by motorcycle it was great to have use of the secure underground carparking which is beneath the hotel with direct access to the courtyard at reception.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the beds are excellent memory foam matresses and the room was spotless with lots of fresh linen and toiletries.
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone wanting a very centralised hotel in Poitiers, just step out the door and you have dozens of resturaunts immediately on the street, walk down this street 200m to the left and you will find yourself in the beautiful typically old european town square, it just doesnt get anymore central, so go ahead BOOK IT and enjoy.

We were both very happy with our stay and after a long journey we were made to feel very welcome.The only negative point was a separate toilet without a wash hand basin but this was minor and I definitely would use the hotel again.

Individual choice at breakfast (freshly cooked, good quality tea and coffee making facilities in room, clean and comfortable plus secure parking.

Arrived in heavy rain and their car park was full, so had to use the public car park. This was close by but we had to carry luggage through the rain and pay the fee. Also the bar and room service was not available (closed Friday to Sunday!) so had to go out in the rain to get a drink and food. The room was small and someone had been smoking in there so not a great start. The 12 Euro breakfast was excellent and the Dining Room was a very pleasant space.

Excellent breakfast for 12 Euros. Comfortable bed.

On the other side of the Hotel de Ville but a quick walk to the pedestrian shopping area and the sites to visit. Many excellent restaurants in the street near the hotel. Reasonable sized room; bathroom arrangement with separate toilet and only a shower not the most luxurious and the towels need replacement. Breakfast served in a pleasant room with local produce highlighted and a warm welcome. Very limited room service – not available at the weekend. Range of TV channels: 2 English, 1 German.

Très bon rapport qualité prix! Situation géographique parfaite (en plein cœur de Poitiers)! Personnel très chaleureux et très compétent! Lit très confortable. Salle de bain un peu petite. Je recommande cet hôtel sans hésiter!!!
