"Nice place if you’re ok with the tiny stairwells and no railings!

It was clean and spacious with excellent furnishings and well equipped kitchen.

There were two sets of stairs- one from the entrance at ground level and one from the living area to the bedroom. Both of these were narrow and the one to the bedroom had some wedge shaped stairs. The stairways were very narrow and from 1/2 way up to the upper levels there weren’t any railings.

If you want to experience the atmosphere of pittoresque Chavignol, then this is the right place. The owner is very friendly and the two-floor apartment offers everything you need.

A lovely apartment in a beautiful village. It was very quiet and extremely clean.

The steps up to the bedroom were very old and uneven so you have to take care, especially at night, but we loved the charm of them.

Petits problèmes de prises de courant qui ne fonctionnaient pas, donc pas de TV ni de micro-ondes
Pas assez de casseroles, poêles, saladier. Bref un peu juste au niveau ustensiles de cuisine. Pas de grille pain. Critiques positives juste pour améliorer

"Excellent house for four persons, in the heart of this nice little village.

The house is very comfortable since each bedroom has its own private shower and one room also has a private toilet. So we both had a private part, like in a hotel, and also a shared large sitting room with TV and kitchen. Perfect for two couples.
The host was very helpful, arranging taxi for us from the bus stop to the house and helping with luggage transport on our departure. (We did not have a car)

We had different views on the beds. One person in our party found it far to hard for her.

"An amazing stay at an amazing location

We loved the location of the property in the village, with easy access to restaurants, cafes and the amazing countryside surrounding us. The supermarket was a short drive away and easy to find. The heating in the house worked perfectly, keeping us warm even on chilly evenings. WiFi worked very well. Even when cars drove right past our window, we heard nothing due to the double-paned windows. Mateos was an amazing host, showing us around the town when we arrived, pointing out the best places to eat and kindly offered us our first drink of Sancerre wine. We would happily come here again, hopefully in warmer weather!

Just one small suggestion – in the small upstairs bedroom it would be great to have a shade for the window to block out the morning light, just like there was for the larger bedroom. But it was not a huge issue for us. 🙂

La localisation de la maison est parfaite : derrière l'hôtel des Remparts, à 3 minutes de la place nouvelle.
Difficile d'accès en voiture, comme partout dans le haut de Sancerre, le parking des Dames est à 2 minutes à pied.
Le logement est fonctionnel et dispose de l'essentiel.
Mateos nous a parfaitement accueilli.

Lovely hotel in the village of Chavignol just 5 minutes from Sancerre but you don't need to go to Sancerre as this village has wine caves, croittins and restaurants. The hotel is modern clean and friendly and the food great in both the restaurant and bistro

Located on what I would call one of the peripheral roads of the Town it is an easy walk to restaurants although uphill. Plenty of free parking on the street. I would call the decor of the rooms modern minimalist with a see-through plastic desk. A large complicated TV that I could not locate any English channels on. Air conditioning

There's the worst reception staff I've ever seen in France. Why does she do this work she doesn't want to deal with the customers? I asked for her help several times how can i go to the nearest station?"

She just repeat I DON'T KNOW.

Of course it's up to her if she help me or not. By the way she's working at this hotel especially in reception desk. i think it's NOT proper hospitality.
I hope she gets a service education from the manager.

Super schöner Blick über die Weinberge und dennoch fußläufig im Zentrum.
Aufgrund der Coronaregelungen auch sonst keine Gegenstände im Zimmer (wie z.B. Gläser) – man konnte diese Dinge aber auch Anfrage erhalten.
Kein Kühlschrank, Pool nur mit Vorabanmeldung möglich. Frühstücksraum mit super schöner Lage (nicht getestet, da relativ teuer).
